Titanium Rings: After-Sales Services

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 10, 2009 – Whether you spend fifty dollars or five hundred dollars on a titanium ring, you should make sure you get great after-sales services to go along with your purchase. As a result, buy from a company that makes their own rings and not one that just imports them from our friends in China, which seems like what everyone in every sector is doing these days... Though quality of imports are getting better, you want local because, for warranty purposes, if you have something wrong, or need a re-touch on your ring, who is more likely to be able to repair or refinish your purchase? The company that imports in bulk, or the company that made your ring from scratch? Here are other things to consider before your ring purchase:

Ring sizes can vary from jeweler to jeweler. So what if the ring doesn't fit perfectly when you receive it? Make sure the company will resize or remake your ring for free within at least the first fifteen days of purchase. It's understandable if they require you to pay for shipping, but it's only right that they allow you to get the correct size ring from the beginning of your purchase.

Most titanium rings can be resized to be bigger by up to half a size, but if you need a smaller ring, or one that is bigger than half a size, a new ring will need to be remade. So if the ring needs to be increased in size, the resize should be free for up to half the size of the original order. Which means it can be resized two times by a quarter size or a one time half size increase. Charging for this service just isn't right.

Titanium rings will get scratched in time. If the company makes their own rings, then refinishing them should not be a problem. Free refinishing for the life of the ring should be included. Again, it's fair to pay for shipping, but the service should be free. If they don't make the rings, they won't be able to refinish it.

Make sure other fees are reasonable. Remake, refund and exchange fees tend to be around 25-30%. Some companies offer lower fees, so research it. But don't forget to check how long the warranty lasts.

Most warranties only apply to the original owner of the ring. TitaniumWish.com offers a warranty for the life of the ring. Pass the ring on and the warranty is still good. Sell the ring and the warranty follows. You need only inform them of the change of ownership. This is a huge plus. You can pass along the ring and if you need to resize it, it can be done. Just pay the remake fee (20% of the purchase price) and have it remade into the right size for the new owner... Not many companies will do this.
