There are two MAZDASPEED3 models available, the sedan and the four-door hatchback. Both models have a sporty body style which comes standard with a specially designed rear spoiler, 18 " alloy rims, halogen headlights and halogen fog lamps. If you look closely, the front bumper even appears to be smiling. The 2.3 Liter DOHC 16-valve Direct-Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivers 263 horsepower and 280 lb ft of torque which will have MAZDASPEED3 drivers smiling as well.
The MAZDASPEED3 has been designed for people who like to drive. Mazda added lots of extras to ensure stability and enhance maneuverability. A 6-speed manual transmission allows for easy shifting into the perfect gear. The rack-and-pinion steering and Electro-Hydraulic Power Assist Steering (EHPAS) provides stability during high speed driving. Specialty Mazdaspeed stabilizer bars keep the vehicle level when navigating through tight curves and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) works with the throttle and anti-lock brake system to correct when under-steering or over-steering is detected. MacPherson front struts and E-type multilink rear suspension provide great handling while the traction control system adjusts the throttle when loss of traction is detected while driving in slick or slippery road conditions.
Drivers and passengers alike will be comfortable in the cockpit of the 2010 MAZDASPEED3 with plenty of front seat room for both. Despite its’ compact size the hatchback has surprising cargo room, especially when the rear seats are folded down. The tilt and telescoping steering wheel can be set to the perfect angle and distance for the driver’s comfort. Nifty technology such as the remote keyless entry system and optional push-button start add to the Mazda fun factor. Creature comforts such as a dual zone climate control system with pollen filter promises a comfortable and clean atmosphere in all seasons.
Overall, the sophisticated suspension, exceptional steering, maneuverability and handling combined with a peppy engine and playful appearance makes the 2010 MAZDASPEED3 one attractive little package.
