Babies that have been taught baby sign language have shown to speak earlier and to have better literacy skills later in life compared to those who were not. Baby sign language can be used to tame your toddler during the terrible twos allowing them to communicate with you, avoiding some of the frustration felt during these pre-verbal years.
Baby sign language has been around for over 20 years but to date has been based around the sign language of a specific country such as American Sign Language (ASL). ASL signs are based on finger spelling of the alphabet and can be too difficult for babies to learn. Toddler Interpreter baby sign language has been developed specifically for hearing children.
